Olsa was due back on August 4th, 2017. Last Wednesday Olsa had an X-ray and it was discovered she only had one puppy inside her. Again Olsa went back to the vet on Thursday for a check up and the vet stated that she was not in distress and showed no signs of being in trouble. But she did state that she felt Olsa would whelp soon. We watched her closely and Friday she showed signs of starting to come into labor. As of 1 am Sat. August 12th, still no puppy. But by later in the morning Olsa whelped her puppy a female black & tan that was still born! This is very sad for us. At this time we are going to allow Olsa to recover from her pregnancy and get her in to be spayed as soon as possible. After she has heeled up from that surgery we will start to search fro her a forever retirement home.

AuthorMy name is Ryan Strickland and my wife Anita and I fell in love with the white dog, "Ziva" on the our dogs page. I found an older male "Yoda" and brought him home and we talked it over and decided to branch out Strickland's Kennels into NE Cape Fear GSD. Strickland's Kennels was a working retriever kennels that bred, raised, trained, and hunt tested retriever. We bred Golden and Chesapeake Bay Retriever since the early 1990's. I still train a retriever every so often for myself as a hunting dog or for a special client. We've been breeding and raising dogs since 1993. Categories |
