These little guys are now two weeks old today. They have opened their eyes and they're trying to walk around. Abby is finding that this is a bit annoying because they don't give her must rest but she's tolerating them well and keeping them and the whelping box clean. We still have three females available for adoption.
Sky got her foever home this evening with Mr. Barry Hardison of Willard, NC. We hope to see Mr. Hardison with Sky and his other shepherd back for training in the near future.
Little Marshall got a new family and a new name today......he's now called Zuko. His new family Michael & Nussarat Hogge are from Jacksonville, NC.
Dutches pups got the OK from the vet this morning to go out to their forever homes.
These little guys are now 1 week old and seem to be doing well dispite their mother being very in-experienced.
This puppy was supposed to be purchased but her potential new owner decided that she wasn't the right puppy for her. We've given her the nick name, Sky. She is 7 weeks old and will go for her vet appointment Sat. July 25th, 2015, if the vet gives her the OK she'll b ready for her new forever home that day. Sky does have a small umbilical hernia. This may correct it self as she gets older if not a simple surgery will fix this problem. It doesn't slow her down as she is full of energy and loves to play. She is sweet tempered and very bold. Because of her condition we are going to price her at $250.00. Yoda is her father and Dutches is her mother.
Abby has five puppies in her current litter. One black & tan male that already has his forever home and one black and tan female that has a forever home. The other three puppies are black females and they are available for adoption.
Abby whelped seven puppies on July 16th, 2015. If all goes well these pups will be available for their forever homes on August 29th, 2015. This is her first litter so she's having to learn and adjust on the fly. So far, five of the puppies have survived birth. We've lost two so far. The other five appear to be big and healthy. Abby is doing a pretty good job of claning them up and trying to lay with them to nurse them. Once all the dust settles and the pups are calmer I'll get pictures and post them with colors and sex. We are now accepting deposits on this litter now. Please contact us through our contact page or give us a call.
My name is Ryan Strickland and my wife Anita and I fell in love with the white dog, "Ziva" on the our dogs page. I found an older male "Yoda" and brought him home and we talked it over and decided to branch out Strickland's Kennels into NE Cape Fear GSD. Strickland's Kennels was a working retriever kennels that bred, raised, trained, and hunt tested retriever. We bred Golden and Chesapeake Bay Retriever since the early 1990's. I still train a retriever every so often for myself as a hunting dog or for a special client. We've been breeding and raising dogs since 1993.
