Athena whelped eleven puppies on May 28, 2019. They entire litter is black & tan/red in color. There are eight males and three females. Mom, Athena is doing well and taking good care of this litter, her second. All of the Puppies appear to be fat and happy! These pups will be seven weeks old on July 16, 2019. They could be ready to go out to their forever homes by July 13 or 20 depending on when their vet visit is and what the vet determines they need.
Grace's pups are now six weeks old. They have really got BIG! These little guys are now coming in and out of the whelping box and the kennel as they please. Mostly out, because the concrete kennel floor in much cooler than the blanket in their box. They have figured out that outside of the box is much more fun than being inside. They are coming when called and eating straight dried puppy food. They are playing and rough housing around. They have had their vet visit and were given the all clear but the vet did recommend a round of preventative medication so they are not going out until May 25th.
This BIG girl is Tia. She is one of our puppies from a couple years ago with our dog Cujo and our now retired dog Abby. Abby lives down at Emerald Isle since she was retired. Tia lives with Mrs. Long in Rocky Point. Ms. Long tell us that Tia is really protective of her and her property.
This lovely lady is Olsa. Olsa is one of our retired females that now lives with Mrs. Karen Lewis in Middlesex, NC. Olsa is spoiled rotten! She travels nearly everywhere her family goes and I've even known her to get special ice cream treats! We do love when our dogs land in these types of homes! Makes all our work worth while.
Grace & Jauger's pups had their first adventure outside to the kennel in the yard the other day. They were a little apprehensive at first it did not take them long to get the hang of running around and having fun!
This is Zeva. She is a pup from one of our litters between Niko and our white shepherd Ziva. She lives with Kimberly Colclasure. She is certainly the queen bee around that house hold!
Grace's pups are now five weeks old. They have really got BIG! These little guys are now coming in and out of the whelping box as they please. Mostly out, because the concrete kennel floor in much cooler than the blanket in their box. They have figured out that outside of the box is much more fun than being inside. They are coming when called and eating puppy food soaked in milk, with a little dried puppy food mixed in. They are playing and rough housing around.
Grace's pups are now four weeks old. They have really got BIG! These little guys are now coming in and out of the whelping box as they please. Mostly out, because the concrete kennel floor in much cooler than the blanket in their box. They are coming when called and eating mushed up puppy food soaked in milk. They are becoming very aware of their environment and playing with each other. There are two boys and two girls left in this litter. They have also grown some teeth and are starting to use them!

AuthorMy name is Ryan Strickland and my wife Anita and I fell in love with the white dog, "Ziva" on the our dogs page. I found an older male "Yoda" and brought him home and we talked it over and decided to branch out Strickland's Kennels into NE Cape Fear GSD. Strickland's Kennels was a working retriever kennels that bred, raised, trained, and hunt tested retriever. We bred Golden and Chesapeake Bay Retriever since the early 1990's. I still train a retriever every so often for myself as a hunting dog or for a special client. We've been breeding and raising dogs since 1993. Categories |
